Jan 25, 2008 · I haven't read much by L'Amour, but I have a couple for you that I liked a great deal. The Walking Drum isn't a western but a page-turner adventure. Read it years ago when I was a teen and I'll re-read it someday. The end of each chapter is a cliff-hanger, if you like that sort. And Hondo is a pretty good western made into a movie with John Wayne.
